As part of its commitment to Venezuelan ophthalmology, on February 9 and 10, 2024, IDEO hosted the II IDEO Ophthalmology Congress "From the Anterior to the Posterior" at the Inter Hotel in Maracaibo.
The congress featured over 30 national guests and 4 international guests. Dr. Hugo Hernán Ocampo and Dr. Christine Kornerup Fals from Colombia, along Dr.José Miguel Varas-Prieto and Dr. Claudia Osorio Moreno from Ecuador, delivered conferences on various ophthalmological topics. The event was endorsed by the Venezuelan Society of Ophthalmology and offered 40 credit hours recognized by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zulia.
The program included the Clínica de Ojos Symposium, concluding with a posthumous recognition of Dr. Jorge Antonio Galué Urrutia. Additionally, the congress served as a platform to introduce Oftalmoccidente, a new project launched by IDEO and the Clínica de Ojos, which will hold its inaugural edition in 2025.
In addition to the academic sessions, the II IDEO Congress featured participation from commercial houses showcasing their medical supplies and equipment, including renowned laboratories such as Alcon and Roche, as well as national companies like ACM Venezuela, Tecnología Dos, Grupo Diema, Oftalmi and Ophtalcom.
We extend our gratitude to everyone for their support and participation in this successful and rewarding event.
